Vaccination Services

Vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to protect your pet from diseases that can cause serious illness or even prove fatal. Whether you’ve just welcomed a new puppy, kitten or rabbit, or your pet is due a booster, we’re here to help keep them covered.

Our vets and veterinary nurses can offer expert advice, tailored to your pet’s lifestyle and age so you always know they’re getting the protection they need.

Dog and puppy vaccinations

Dogs can pick up viruses from parks, kennels, daycare and other pets, even just on their daily walk. Puppies need a full vaccination course to get them started, and adult dogs need regular boosters to stay protected.

Common diseases we vaccinate against include:

  • Canine distemper
  • Leptospirosis (spread through water or wildlife)
  • Parvovirus
  • Hepatitis
  • Kennel cough (often required for doggy daycare, training or boarding)

If your dog travels abroad or stays in kennels, we can also advise on any additional protection they might need.

Cat and kitten vaccinations

Even indoor cats can be at risk from viruses that spread through contact with other animals or contaminated objects. Vaccines help prevent serious and often untreatable illnesses.

Common diseases we vaccinate against include:

  • Cat flu (herpesvirus and calicivirus)
  • Feline infectious enteritis
  • Feline leukaemia virus (FeLV)

Kittens need two vaccines a few weeks apart to get started. Adult cats then need a regular booster to maintain protection.

What to expect at your vaccination appointment?

Your appointment will usually take 15-20 minutes and will include:

  • Full nose-to-tail health check
  • Discussion about your pet’s lifestyle and needs
  • Their vaccination (with minimal fuss)

We’ll also set up an automated reminder, so you never miss a booster.

Vaccinations & Pet Health Club

Vaccinations & Pet Health Club

Vaccinations are included with our plans along with flea and worm treatment, six-month health checks and discounts on neutering, dental work and more.

  • Some vaccines are classed as “core”. They’re recommended for all dogs and cats, because the diseases they protect against are serious and contagious. Others are “non-core” and depend on your pet’s lifestyle. Your vet will help you decide what’s right.

  • Vaccinations teach your pet’s body how to fight off harmful diseases. They introduce a harmless version of the infection, which means your pet’s immune system learns how to defend itself.

  • It’s best to wait until your pet is feeling well. If you're unsure, give us a ring before your appointment. We’ll help you decide what’s right on the day.

  • If your pet’s due a booster and you’ve missed the date, just contact your vet. In some cases, they may need to restart their vaccination course to stay protected, but we’ll guide you through the next steps.

  • Young animals get early protection from their mum’s milk but that protection fades over time. A course of vaccines helps them build their own immunity when they need it most. That’s why we give a few doses, spaced out over the first few months.

  • Yes, immunity can fade over time, and older pets are still at risk of catching diseases. Your vet may tailor the type of vaccines needed depending on your pet’s age, health, and lifestyle.

  • Even indoor pets can be at risk. Some infections spread through the air, on shoes, or by other pets. And if your cat, dog or rabbit ever needs to visit the vet, travel, or stay somewhere like a cattery or kennel, they’ll need protection in place.

  • Usually, we avoid vaccinations during pregnancy unless necessary. If your pet is due a booster, your vet can help plan ahead or advise on the safest timing.

  • All pets do need a vaccination every year to stay protected. Although some vaccines offer protection for longer than others, some diseases we vaccinate against require an annual booster or protection is lost. Your vet can advise which annual boosters your pet needs.

  • Vaccinations help prevent serious illnesses, and in many cases, can save you from facing costly treatments later on. If you're looking for a simpler way to manage your pet’s health, Pet Health Club includes core vaccines as part of your plan.
